Hi, I'm Ronnie Koenig.
My career as a writer began at the iconic Playgirl magazine. After answering an ad for a "writer/editor, must be comfortable with male nudity," I was hired as an associate editor to write the "boy copy" for nude pictorials which I found I was strangely good at doing. From there, I was promoted to editor-in-chief and led my staff to produce a monthly magazine, organizing photoshoots, writing features and smoothing baby oil onto the chests of the manservants who fanned me and fed me grapes while I worked (just kidding about that last part!).
From there, I began writing freelance articles for Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Penthouse and iVillage. My work has also appeared in The Atlantic, Self, Men's Health, Parents, American Baby, Babble, AOL Moviefone, The Saturday Evening Post and American Way (in your seatback pocket!). My weekly column for amNY newspaper entertained subway riders and I'm the co-author of Naughty New York: A Lady's Guide to the Sexy City and Penthouse Presents: Working Stiff.
I've been a well-spoken guest on Fox News, The O'Reilly Factor, CBC Radio One and Sirius XM. I performed on the NYC stage at Ars Nova, 92nd St. Y and the East Village's Kraine theatre. I was fortunate enough to teach a comedy writing class at Gotham Writer's Workshop and I've lectured at colleges across the US.
My favorite assignments are the ones that allow me to jump into new and exciting situations. From chasing down the streaking team at Princeton University to joining up with a popular improv group's flash mob to testing out a feminine arousal gel on my privates, I try to find the humor in everything I do.
I live and write in Brooklyn, NY, where I love to cook and mix cocktails, give and take bubble baths and instigate impromptu dance parties with my husband and our toddler twins.
